Visit the Diocesan Museum, which houses the renowned Codex Purpureus, considered the most important example of an illuminated Greek codex in the world, and was certainly composed in the Middle East, in Antioch of Syria or Caesarea of Palestine. It derives its name from the fact that it is written on a thin purple parchment.  The precious document contains a series of miniatures illustrating some of the most significant moments in the life and preaching of Jesus.
