Exploring the Tyrrhenian Coast of Calabria, discovering its history, its nature and its gastronomy

Arrival on the “Costa degli Dei”. Accommodation in the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast. Tour of Tropea, visiting the Romanic Cathedral and the S. Maria dell’Isola’s Church  with a botanic garden overhanging the sea. Lunch in local restaurant.  In the afternoon, stop in Capo Vaticano, a granitic spur where it is possible to admire one of the most breath- taking seas in Italy.. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast. Departure for Pizzo Calabro. Visit of the small church of Piedigrotta dug into the tuff and of the Aragonese Castle. Continuation for Vibo Valentia. Visit the old town, S. Leoluca Cathedral, the National Archaeological Museum located in the Norman Swabian Castle and the Archaeological areas. Happy hour in a historic building with a view of the palace and the gardens. In the afternoon stop in Zambrone to admire its wonderful coast: Il paradiso del Sub is one of the most well know all over the world. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast. Departure for Nicotera. Nicotera is a seaside village with golden beaches and crystal clear waters on the Costa degli Dei, called the City of the Mediterranean Diet. The town looks like a cluster of ochre-roofed houses clinging to a high hill overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Aeolian Islands and the Strait of Messina. The historic centre, which is easy to visit by walking , has  treasures of great historical and religious value such as the Castle and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.  Deaprture for  Spilinga for ‘nduja tasting,  a typical Calabrian sausage with a soft consistency and a more or less spicy taste. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast. Departure for the visit of Zungri, an enchanted location, worth visiting for a whole day, to get plunged in a unique atmosphere. A thousand years long journey, back in time, in one of the most fascinating and peculiar places of Calabria. The Museum of Rock and Peasant Civilization is a microcosm, a link to an ancient world that no longer exists, but it is still capable of telling incredible stories. After the visit, tasting of the famous Pecorino of Mount Poro. Return to the Hotel. Farewell dinner where Ladies will receive a souvenir. Overnight.
